THE MYSTWOOD BOARD OF DIRECTORS
ROBERT DUNHAM
|
Bob Dunham served Mystwood faithfully as the first President and CEO since incorporation. In his 5+ years as the president of Mystwood he has revolutionized character sheet storage, served as the public face of Mystwood and lead the Board of Directors through collective discourse and consensus building. This is of course in addition to running Mystwood: The Chronicles of Burgundar and serving as Magistrate of Mystwood: The Chronicles of the Keep. In his years of serving as President he was often the first to respond to emails Mystwood received and messages on the Mystwood Facebook page, eager to assist all who needed his help.
Bob Dunham is responsible for making a print version of the Mystwood Rulebook available both in 4th Edition and 5th Edition, and was the driving force behind the 5th Edition release which sought to solve some issues discovered in the previous edition. |
Tyler Hussey
|
Tyler Hussey started LARPing in 2017. Raised as the grandson of a librarian Tyler grew up immersed in fantasy literature, developed a distinct interest in tabletop games as a child, and as a teen dove into the wild world of cosplay and prop design.
He was brought to LARP for the first time by his best friend because he happened to have the weekend off, and he instantly fell in love with the hobby. His favorite thing about LARP is the ability to tell and share stories with people in an exciting and engaging format. “I’ve decided to run for the Patreon Representative position because I believe that the more people who are able to play, the more alive the world we’ve all come to love can be. I really appreciate the friendships and bonds I’ve been able to form all of you through LARP, and being able to deepen and expand upon those, as well as represent the people I care for would be an honor." |
DOUGLAS ANDREWS
|
Doug began LARPing in 2005 and fell in love with the hobby from the very first Event he attended. Introduced into the Hobby by his mentor Truax McFarland, he enjoys every aspect of the hobby, both playing and staffing, only having taken two years off to deploy to Afghanistan.
He hopes that Mystwood will continue to attract people from all walks of life, and that the community will continue to grow and nurture the amazing world that is the Mystwood setting. A native of Maine, Doug graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 2008. He spends his free time with his dogs, Twig and Teddy in central Maine. He earned his Bachelors in Justice Studies from the University of Maine at Augusta, and is currently working on his Masters in Public Safety. He currently works as a Child Protective Caseworker for the State of Maine. |
DYLAN SIROIS
|
Dylan Sirois is a Graduate from the University of Maine with a degree in Secondary Education and History. He became involved with the Maine Adventure Society in 2010. After an immersive experience playing a game called Exile created by Truax McFarland and subsequently Atropos created by the two Joes, he had the urge to create his own game, which later became Mystwood.
It is his hope Mystwood will expand the hobby to those who would not initially see themselves as "LARPers" by running an affordable, exciting, and inclusive game. Dylan's interest in history and education have driven him towards the creation of an immersive medieval world where anyone can aspire to Knighthood and be the hero that saves the day. Mystwood is a community first and foremost and Dylan is dedicated to serving the community to the best of his ability. |
DAVID SIROIS
|
David Sirois is a veteran LARPer who has taken part in many campaigns at both the Jefferson MASI site and the Harrison Burgundar site. He started LARPing in 2010 at the Maine Adventure Society, and attended his first event with his son, Dylan Sirois. It took David a couple events to get into the hobby, but soon enough he was hooked.
In the real world David is a carpenter and construction superintendent. His skills in construction have been truly beneficial to the MASI Site in Jefferson, Maine and the Burgundar Site in Harrison Maine. Buildings like the Bonaparte House AKA The Green Griffon Inn AKA House Castelion and the House of Records were his own design. He also built the roof of Solomon's Tower in the village of Burgundar. His passion though, between building projects is telling realistic stories and making memorable, relatable Non Player Characters. |
CARRIE JOHNSON
|
Carrie Johnson is relatively new to the LARP scene, having joined the Mystwood community in 2014. Since that time she has been a player and chronicle runner at both The Keep and Burgundar. In 2019 she became Game Master for the Burgundar Chapter and the Vice President of the Mystwood Board.
Originally from the distant lands of downeast Maine, Carrie comes from a theater background and has brought her passion for storytelling to the world of Mystwood. She hopes to help expand the world while bringing exciting and engaging stories for all players to enjoy. |
BOARD MEMBER & PATREON COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE |
Sonja Jade began LARPing in 2017 at the Burgundar site and was instantly enamored. A lifelong animal lover and farmer, she was raised in a military household and traveled the US and Europe before settling in Maine where her love of roleplaying games, mythology, and medieval history brought her to Mystwood. Having alternated between player and staff at both the Keep and Burgundar Chapters, Sonja enjoys bringing immersive characters and compelling storytelling to the community as it continues to grow. Sonja usually spends her time away from LARP with her partners, studying HEMA, or gaming.

And a Special Thanks to...
TRUAX MCFARLAND
|
Truax has been a Live Action role player for twenty seven years. His game design credits include Stalkers Way, Exile, Roanoke, Dreamquest, Monsters & Mayhem, and (with Dylan Sirois) the majority of the mechanics behind Mystwood. Systems derived from his designs have been used in more than a dozen Live Action Role Playing games across New England and beyond.
By his rough calculations, he has spent more than two years of his life LARPing. He is a Physics Teacher by occupation, a fighter by preference, and is the inventor of the Waystone "self-running" module mechanic. |
